How often should I bathe my dog, and how do I dry them properly?

Quick answer

A dog's skin is thinner and more delicate than human skin, so bathing too often dries it out and causes flaking. Once every 2–3 weeks is generally appropriate. After a bath, use a dryer on a setting that isn't too hot, and make sure to thoroughly dry between the toes, inside the ears, and armpits and other folds to prevent fungal skin infections.
